These flowers I remember from my childhood. There was this hillside in my childhood home which used to be full of these. They honeyed scent was stunning. And in time they started to disappear. It was sad. Last summer I moved some of them in my garden and I am hoping they will spread their wings here.

Nämä kukat tuovat mieleen lapsuusmuistoja. Pihallamme oli rinne, joka kasvoi valtoimenaan näitä. Näky on todella kaunis. Ja niiden hunajainen tuoksu oli uskomaton. Ajan kuluessa ne alkoivat kuitenkin kadota. Se oli surullista. Viime kesänä siirsin niitä muutaman omaan puutarhaani ja nyt toivon, että ne asettuvat tänne.

Last winter there was this blue day. Snow covered the land during the night and all the tree branches had a new dress. It was soft, heavy snow and yet so light.

Viime talven sininen päivä. Lumi peitti yöllä maan ja puut saivat ylleen uuden puvun, jolla koreilla. Se oli pehmeää, painavaa lunta ja silti niin kovin kevyttä.

The sun kept away and the world turned blue. It was so silent. Not a single bird was singing.

Aurinko pysytteli piilossaan ja maailma muuttui siniseksi. Oli aivan hiljaista. Lintukaan ei laulanut -

Nor wind traveled in the trees.

eikä tuuli käynyt puissa.

Even the pine trees stayed silent and still

Männytkin seisoivat hiljaa paikoillaan.

Branches of the oak trees carried they share of the snow. They looked so beautiful and every little branch had its moment.

Tammen oksat kantoivat osansa lumesta. Ne olivat sanoin kuvaamattoman kauniit ja jokainen oksa nautti hetkestään sinisessä valkeudessa.

The whole world was blue and guarded the secret of winter.

Sininen maailma vartioi talven salaisuutta.
